As part of our topic on structures, we went to visit Orakei Marae.

Cross country

Well done to everyone who took part in this morning's cross country! The weather was perfect and everyone did a great job, both running and cheering each other on. Check out the photos to see who came in the top three in their races...

Orchard working bee #2!

Today we went back into the orchard to do some planting - yay! We planted strawberries, comfrey, a plum tree and lots of other plants to attract pollinators. We had lots of fun. Thanks to Harrison, Kate P, and Alexia's mums for coming along to help!

Orchard working bee

We had lots of fun this morning working in the orchard with Mrs Elmore. We moved mulch from the gully up behind our new retaining wall to create a level area, and talked about the planting we are going to do in a few weeks.

Chinese calligraphy

We were really lucky to have some visitors come to our class today to teach us some Chinese calligraphy. We learned how to hold the brush correctly and practised writing numbers.

Author, Chris Gurney, comes to visit

Today we were really lucky to have a visit from Chris Gurney. She read two of her stories and told us all about how she gets her books published.
